Payments: UPI first, cards second
Most Indian shoppers pay by UPI, so the gateway must support it with a low failure rate and settle to a current account in your business name. Add cards, net banking and cash on delivery, and decide who bears the COD charge before launch, not after the first return.
GST invoicing from the same order
Every order needs a GST invoice with the right HSN code and rate, and your accountant needs the data at month end. Generate the invoice from the order itself, so the store, the courier label and the books agree. Typing invoices into a separate package is where errors begin.
Stock that lives in one place
A sweets brand selling on its own site, on a marketplace and through a shop needs one stock figure. Decide which system owns it. Two places claiming the correct count is a problem to settle in planning, not in Diwali week.
Couriers and the delivery promise
Connect a courier aggregator so labels print from the order and tracking reaches the customer without a phone call. Set a delivery promise per pin code; a customer in Jaipur and one in Kochi should not read the same date.
The conversation after the order
Order confirmation, dispatch, delivery and the reorder nudge belong on WhatsApp, where your customers already are. Plan the messages, the opt-in and who answers replies. The store that answers within minutes gets the second order.
