Start with one named lead

Every offshore project needs one person who owns the answer. Ask who your lead is, which hours they keep and how decisions reach you. A named lead with a weekly written update removes the two most common failures: silent drift, and a scope that nobody can point to.

Fix the overlap window in writing

India runs on IST, UTC+5:30. That gives the UAE, Singapore and Australia most of the day, the UK and Europe every afternoon and the US East Coast every morning. Write the call window into the scope, keep it for the whole project and move it only by agreement.

Pay by milestone, not by the hour

A fixed-scope quote lists stages, prices, dates and assumptions. You pay when a stage is delivered and reviewed, in your own currency. Hourly billing hides the plan; milestones expose it. When a change is needed, it is priced and added as a new stage, in writing.

Own the code from the first stage

Your repositories, your cloud accounts, your app-store and domain accounts. The team commits into them from day one, and the intellectual property passes to you as each stage is paid. A mutual NDA before the first call protects the idea; ownership clauses in the scope protect the build.

Review working builds every week

Slides describe software; builds prove it. Insist on a working build to click through every week, with the decisions taken since the last one listed under it. A weekly review keeps the feedback loop short enough that a wrong turn costs days, not months.
